Three questions to the project team
What was the particular challenge of the project from a UX point of view?
The main challenge of this project was creating an experience that did not feel complicated. The Intelligent Auto Fill dispenser has a very complex algorithm on the backend, and we had to interate countless times on the timing and flow of each interaction to make it feel seemless. Placing a vessel in the dispenser well sets off a series of backend interactions, from detecting the vessel, making sure its actually a cup, ensuring its centered, measuring the depth, and making sure that no other objects are present, and give the user feedback all in less than a second. In that time, we wanted the user to just place the cup and watch it start filling. It was a fun challenge.
What was your personal highlight in the development process? Was there an aha!-moment, was there a low point?
Where do you see yourself and the project in the next five years?
